North Coast Doberman Rescue Adoption Procedures
We will consider all applications located in the Eastern/Midwest part of the United States where our volunteers can do home visits. Please e-mail us northcoastdobe@aol.com to see if we are able to perform a home visit in your area. If we are unable to adopt to your area please visit the DPCA Rescue directory to find a Doberman Rescue that can.
We do our best to match potential applicants with the right rescue Doberman. If we currently do not have a Doberman in the program that matches your needs, we will keep your application on file until one does find its way into the rescue or one of our affiliates.
Adopters are informed about all behaviors observed with the rescue Dobermans. We also spend a considerable amount of money on veterinary care and do our best to make sure the dogs are healthy, or at least, that the adopter is made aware of any medical conditions a dog may have. We cannot be sure, however, that we have observed all aspects of a dog’s behavior. Nor can we be certain that all medical conditions have been diagnosed. We, therefore, make no warranties or representations as to the health, fitness, demeanor, or well being of each dog.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to placement. All have been vaccinated and are on heartworm prevention. In addition, each dog is micro chipped prior to placement. Adoption fees are listed at the bottom of this page, if you wish to contribute more, remember that your donation is tax-deductible. Most of our rescue dogs incur expenses greater than the adoption fee. Your contribution will ensure that our program can continue its work.
An adoption contract must be signed at the time the rescue dog leaves NCDR.
Requirements:
1. We would like all potential homes to have a secure 6ft padlocked fenced yard that is attached to the home, we do make some exceptions but we feel this is best option to keep our rescue Dobes safe.2. Your rescued Doberman along with any current/future pets MUST be an indoor pet.
3. All current pets in the adopter's home must be spayed/neutered.
4. Adopter must be able to afford to care for their adopted Doberman and provide all routine and emergency care that the dog may need. This includes yearly vaccinations, heartworm testing and prevention.
5. Rescue Dog MUST wear ID tags at all times and will be micro chipped before leaving the rescue.
6. Adopter must notify NCDR immediately if dog is lost or stolen.
7. Adopter may not transfer ownership of the dog without permission from NCDR. If adopter is unable to keep dog for any reason, the dog must be returned to NCDR.
NCDR has the right to deny any application if we feel that the potential adopter will not provide a home that is in the rescue dogs best interest.
